Spaces & Places of Dylan Thomas Exhibition
Our new exhibition is a series of photographs concentrating on Dylan Thomas – Spaces and Places of Dylan Thomas by Robin V. Robinson.

Robin is a California-based photographer who is curious about the way we experience the planet, each other, and ourselves. Through visual poetry, she explores our physical and spiritual presence, expressing the depth and emotions of seen and unseen dimensions.
Robinson’s personal studies of depth psychology and her degrees in engineering and music from Cal Poly and Stanford Universities contribute to her distinctive style of seeing and creating art.
Robin has studied and worked with generous U.S. West Coast Photography mentors for over 30 years and as a result, hand prints her work in the darkroom where she enjoys applying experimental printing techniques to her dream-like images. She says, “I believe in the alchemy and thus the transformation that happens in the darkroom process, of both the material and the artist. This is why I remain an analog photographer.”
She exhibits internationally, and her work is held in museums and private collections, including the permanent collections of the Monterey Museum of Art, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the US National Mariners’ Museum, among others. She has received top awards in international photographic competitions and is a contributor to the Dark Mountain Journal.
Spaces and Places of Dylan Thomas gathers visual impressions of the world that the poet inhabited, explored, and loved. It is a photographic tour of the moods and energies of these places, seen through the Robin’s lens, who takes an insightful look at Dylan’s spaces in Wales and New York City. Dylan’s words accompany the images, offering whispers of his presence.
The book that led to this exhibition is being published through The Seventh Quarry Press.
The exhibition opens to the public on 10 April and on 17 April we will be holding the official opening with the launch of the book and readings from Dylan’s poems.
Please note, outside of the launch entry to the exhibition is the cost of museum entrance and includes access to our collections. For museum entry information click here.
