On Thursday 16th December at 7.30pm, Terry John will be giving a talk on Christmas customs and long- forgotten traditions of Pembrokeshire.
Join us in-person or online. Either way a warm winter welcome and plenty of Christmas spirit is guaranteed!
Researcher Heather Tomos will be delving into the history of conscientious objectors during the First World War.
Why did they resist enlisting in the British Army? What was life like for those who stayed behind?
Heather will be answering those questions and more.

Dust off the cobwebs and join us for a cackle in the coven as we celebrate Welsh witches with an evening of talks, filmpoetry, and open mic.
At 7.30pm on wednesday 3rd Novemmber, Artist Efa Lois will be discussing her research into Welsh witches and how they have inspired her work and there will be a showing of filmpoems based on the lives of women accused of witchcraft in collaboration with the Poetry Pause Podcast. There will also be a chance to share your own poems, songs or spooky stories.
This will be a lighthearted social evening and everyone is welcome. However, for covid safety, spaces are limited and booking is essential:

On Wednesday 15th September at 10.30am we will be running a guided version of Narberth Women’s Heritage Walk.
The walk (approx 3km) follows in the footsteps of 10 remarkable local women from history and shares their stories at key locations in and around the town.
We will meet at the Townsmoor Car Park at 10.30 and spaces are strictly limited. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. This is a fully-paved and accessible walk with drop-kerbs for mobility aids.
Maps and guides will be supplied, but if you would like to walk the trail yourself, (or a longer, off-road version) it is available to download here.
On Thursday 9th September at 7.30pm, our curator, Pauline Griffiths will be giving a talk on the Suffragettes in West Wales.
Combining photographs, anecdotes and historical research, Pauline will explore the lives of Welsh suffragettes as well as the reaction in West Wales to suffrage rallies in the area.

If you missed Bronwen Gwillim’s excellent talk on Domestic Goddesses and the Plastic Revolution, it’s now available to view online.
Bronwen Gwillim is an artist from Pembrokeshire who creates bold statement jewellery from beach plastic.
This talk explores the historical and cultural impact of plastic (particularly on the lives of women) and how it can be repurposed for a more sustainable future.
Join us to celebrate independent Bookshop Week with Thorne and Judith will be discussing launching books during a pandemic, reading and writing during lockdown, and what’s coming next from them. This event will be live in the museum and available online.
Tickets are £5 which is redeemable against any of Thorne and Judith’s books.
This is a live in-person event (remember them?) with a limited number of places at the museum and then streaming live for those unable to attend.
